Food Wars!

I decided last Thursday to bring a little cheesecake to the gym for my competitor Susan. All is fair in sport! Unlucky for me she was not there to pick up my little gift!

So this morning on the air she had to one up me!

Sara Lee poundcake, cheesecake bites, apple pie, cherry pie, and some peeps!

I moved them straight downstairs to the office...good try though!

I am focused and goal oriented!!!

No Sara Lee tricks here!!!!

New Goals and Weekend Survival

I made it through a weekend of family gatherings, a 10lb lasagna, pizza, birthday cake, and french fries...I didn't even have a bite!

Not one

New goals:

Lose enough inches around my thighs so they don't touch anymore and rub holes in my pants

Fit into my bridesmaid dress for cousins wedding without having to let it out!
( I purposely ordered it in a snug size, so I would have to work harder)

Sooooo Hungry

Ok so since I have been working out like a lunatic now- I am constantly hungry-constantly!
I have to have food everywhere I go, so I can avoid the pitfalls of eating bad.
Protein powder in my gym bag, bars from the nutrition corner in my purse, and hunks of chicken in a plastic bag on the seat of my car... I am a traveling grocery store

Stephanie's Bio

Hi my name is Stephanie...and I am an over eater!
I have been a radio personality (which is good for my weight, because people can't see me!) since my Army days at Fort Gordon, in Georgia. I grew up that annoying kid, who would call radio stations trying to be the guest DJ on some count down show.Every night I would dial, get in, and then call another radio station to do the same.
I had a calling.
I currently host the morning show on 106 WCOD with Dan Mahoney. You can hear us Monday-Friday from 6am to 10am or listen online at 106wcod.com.

I have been on a constant yo-yo diet since I was probably 14!
The root of the issue- my love affair with food. I think it was growing up in a Portuguese household. Lots of meat, lots of bread, and tons of sweet!
I will give you the equation for the Portuguese:
Work=Money=Food
More Work=More Money=More Food
The heavier you were meant, the better your family was doing...
My family did well.
When I emerged from boot camp in 1997, I was fit for the first time in my life...that didn't last long.
In 2000 I had my first child and it was down hill for weight from there...
up,down,up,down,up,down
Fast forward to today
I have been pregnant every other year since 2004! Just when I would get myself back down to single digit sizes (sigh)
I would find myself pregnant again.
I love my babies, just not the stretch marks, extra skin, and love handles(as I fondly call them pregnant lady lumps)
I have decided to, once and for all, control my weight and begin a new a new life in a smaller body.
I thank Heather Crosby for getting me back into shape with my almost 3 year old,
I thank Sara Lee for getting me out of shape with my last pregnancy,
and I also thank Heather Crosby for working with me now to put my body back in shape again!
The difficulty for me is food control. My husband is a fantastic guy, and has never cared what size I wear. He is also a problem because he eats anything he wants and never seems to gain an ounce.
I recall one evening when I was on the elliptical machine in our bedroom breathing heavy, and he says to me from bed (while eating Swiss cake rolls, mind you) "I don't understand why you torture yourself like that...I love you as you are!"
Easy for him to say- 1 box of "Little Debbie's" later and no muffin top hanging out of his jeans!
I am doing this for me.
For this competition my goals are simple:
Make a "lifestyle" change with food, exercise, and gain control of my body again.
Beat Susan ( I really hate to lose)
Also I would like to walk, and not feel things jiggling below my chest.
I hope you will follow my story, and write your own, if my struggles are similar. I look forward to June for the final weigh in, just to see what I really can do...
Stephanie

"To eat the extra's or not to eat them" that is the question

I think one of my major problems is the fact that I like to cook.
Make a nice meal for everyone(dessert included) and sit down as a family and discuss our day.

Then leftovers come.

I have this thing in my head, that every scrap must be eaten. Nothing must go to waste. We are in a Recession. Poor kids are starving in Africa. I think it is drilled into our head at birth.

Not only to I eat all of mine, but it's now the kids leftovers too.

A bite of Mac and Cheese here, a chicken nugget there, ooh only one more slice of pizza left (it's got to be eaten), geez it's just a couple of chips that barely counts...

Let me tell you it all adds up-and adds up quick! 193 pounds quick...I can't believe I just actually typed it-aggghhh 193 lbs

I need to learn no more bites, tastes, halves, nibbles, and handfuls.

Just say NO!!!!!
